The Elmwood Giants Baseball Club, in coordination with Red River Valley Baseball, is pleased to announce the details of their 2020 - 2021 Winter Baseball Camp aimed to help 11U, 13U and 15U aged players develop their fundamental baseball skills.
The camp will be held at Gateway Community Centre on the indoor soccer pitch for (17) Saturday evenings including the following dates:
November 14, 21, 28 / December 5, 12 / January 9, 16, 23, 30 / February 6, 13, 20, 27 / March 6, 13, 20, 27
Each week will consist of 3 separate 1 hour sessions, 11U from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, 13U from 8:15 to 9:15 and 15U from 9:30pm to 10:30pm. Each session will be capped at 16 players. Players will be grouped together by age, skill or level played in 2020.
Highlights of the instruction will include:
Proper Throwing, Receiving and Fielding techniques as required by all positions including Pitcher, Catcher, Infielder and Outfielder.
Base-Running in all situations.
Hitting - Tee Work, Soft Toss and Live from Instructors.
Proper Dynamic Warm-Up and Footwork Agility drills to promote conditioning, foot speed and first step quickness.
Lead Instructor will be Glen Hunter who is an active clinician with Baseball Manitoba for over 35 years. Glen has coached at all levels of AAA with Red River Valley, as well as a number of coaching positions at the provincial level including the Silver medal winning 2017 Canada Summer Games team.
Other instructors will be Ed Kulyk, Head Coach of the 3 time MJBL Champion Elmwood Giant’s Junior Team and Dan Moir, Head Coach of the Elmwood Giant’s 18UAAA team.
Players will receive a total of 17 hours of instruction over the duration of the camp at a cost of $250.
**IMPORTANT** - The latest COVID-19 safety practices including sanitization, wearing of masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced at all times.
There is currently (0) spots available at 11U level, (0) spots available at the 13U level and (0) spots available at the 15U level. Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis, and a waiting list will be created for each age category.
